A local London pub that’s been thrust into an unexpected spotlight and onto the tourist map, thanks to musician Taylor Swift. Unexpected fameThe Black Dog pub is in an unassuming residential area of Vauxhall in south London. Taylor Swift fans Jenna Spackey and Maddie Essig came to check out The Black Dog pub after listening to the song. The Black Dog pub says the past few days have been "immense." Hageman compares “The Black Dog” song to a “fable” – it’s probably not based entirely in reality.

I've stayed at all-inclusive resorts around the world and seen first-timers make the same mistakes. New York CNN —Martinis and margaritas might still be people’s drink of choice, but the spritz is bubbling to the top. Bartenders are experimenting so much with the spritz, swapping in different liqueurs or juices in place of Campari or Aperol, that it’s becoming the “cocktail for the moment” and expanding its appeal year-round, a recent report from bar analytics service Union said. “By all accounts, the spritz has had a smashing year, showing strong growth across every month, peaking smack-dab in the middle of summer,” Union said. Data shows that spritz sales started growing in sales this year a month earlier — in April — than usual. Just scrolling on TikTok, Rosenstein notices different variations of a spritz (such as a Hugo spritz, made with St-Germain elderflower liqueur, or a Lillet spritz made with the wine-based liqueur) in her feed.

Cruise travel insurance can help cover emergency costs as well, which is why I have an annual travel insurance policy. For Caribbean cruises in particular, this part is easy since almost all spots in and around cruise ports accept US dollars. Drinks (if you drink a lot)I drink a lot on cruises, and I'm not just talking about cocktails and beer. This is why I always have a drink package when I cruise, which is easy since I normally cruise with MSC Cruises. On my next Caribbean cruise, we've booked a resort day pass at an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic through a platform called Resort for a Day.

But according to some industry experts, it’s not too early to start thinking about – and perhaps even booking – next year’s trip. But Keyes generally advises travelers not to necessarily hit that purchase button as soon as an airline opens up a flight for booking. “While it’s relatively common knowledge that last-minute fares are expensive, what’s far less known is that it’s also possible to book flights too early,” he says. From the hospitality industry perspective, advance booking can help hoteliers and other businesses adjust staffing, pricing and other factors to offer a better experience. While Cabutti of JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa acknowledges that “the early booking trend results in higher room rates,” it also enables businesses to better meet guests’ needs.

Can There Be Too Many Cafes in Paris?

The sound of clinking wine glasses floated through the evening air recently as throngs of patrons sipped chilled rosé and nibbled on cheese plates in front of the cafes, restaurants and épiceries bordering Place d’Aligre in the Bastille district of Paris. Waiters threaded through the crowd, their trays loaded with Aperol spritzes and oysters, as more people hurried in to meet friends. Paris has long been renowned for its bustling cafe culture, with 13,000 open-air terraces occupying sidewalks and squares in the years before the pandemic. But thousands of additional outdoor spaces bloomed under an emergency program set up to relieve businesses during Covid lockdowns. They are now permanent, after a 2021 decree by Mayor Anne Hidalgo that allows them to return every year from April through November.

On a scorching June day on the Amalfi Coast of Italy, Chloe Madison and her boyfriend, Colin Pinello, stopped to have lunch in Positano, a glamorous town overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. With their refreshing caprese pasta plates and Aperol spritzes, they had one thought on their minds: ice water. But they knew that asking for it would be too American. While the Europeans around them seemed unfazed by the temperatures, she said, they felt parched. “Water was something we consistently had to request,” she said, and when they asked for ice it was “just a few cubes.”

It’s no secret that nonalcoholic cocktails are suddenly ubiquitous. Whereas until a few years ago, nondrinkers had to make do with cranberry-splashed club soda, now seemingly every noteworthy bar offers a phony Negroni or a margarita-inspired mocktail. Today, the best bitter aperitifs (the term for nonalcoholic alternatives to spirits like Campari and Aperol) have all the complexity and layered flavors of their boozy counterparts. — Oliver StrandVideo Credit Credit... What Will Be the Theme of Summer?

I proclaim this: the Summer of George!”Setting intentions for summer is the low-stress, seasonal version of a New Year’s resolution. Megan Thee Stallion ushered in the notion of the “Hot Girl Summer” with her 2019 song, which led to the hopeful but mostly unrealized “hot vax summer” of 2021. Any eccentric pattern can become a designation: “‘Sharknado,’ Cronut … Is This the Summer of the Neolexic Portmanteau?” Slate asked in 2013. Hayley Phelan instructed Times readers on ways to make the summer of 2018 the summer of missing out, introducing the concept of JOMO (J for joy), FOMO’s “benevolent cousin.”In branding summer, we relinquish some of the season’s intoxicating agency: Is it caftan summer? My friend Sarah claims she’s observing an “I’m not showering” summer.

The impact of the war in Ukraine on tennis has been constant and never-ending. The moves have left players from Ukraine unsatisfied and players from Russia and Belarus feeling like pariahs. The tension on Sunday was in stark contrast to the otherwise celebratory feel of the first day of the French Open. But as Nadal has said, tennis moves fast and waits for no one. On Monday, Elina Svitolina, among the most successful players Ukraine has produced, will make her Grand Slam return from maternity leave, against Martina Trevisan of Italy.

A couple who tried to get compensation for two Aperol Spritz cocktails during a flight delay had their claim denied after a German court ruled alcohol didn't count as a refreshment. Part of this bill included two Aperol Spritz drinks that cost a total of £15 ($18.60). There were also two Camden Hells beers on the couple's receipt, which the court didn't have to scrutinize as they had not claimed compensation for them.
Lorenzo Maraviglia is the general manager of the hotel where "The White Lotus" Season 2 was filmed. He told Insider what the show gets right about his job and where it embellishes reality. That's because the renovated 14th-century convent overlooking the Ionian Sea was the central filming location of the hit-TV drama — and it's all hotel guests want to talk about. "It's funny because in "The White Lotus," Jennifer Coolidge gets killed on the cruise — so I don't know how inspiring that can be." Sabrina Impacciatore plays the hotel manager Valentina in "The White Lotus" season 2.
The Italian cocktail, Aperol Spritz, appeared multiple times on HBO's "White Lotus" series. According to Campari, the maker of Aperol, the apéritif is gaining market share in the US, in part because of its repeated appearances in "The White Lotus." Aperol Spritz has often been seen as a divisive drink. Aperol sales, which account for 22% of Campari's total portfolio, grew by nearly 50% in the US in 2022. Campari isn't the only business to see a boost from what has been dubbed as "The White Lotus" effect.

REUTERS/Manuel SilvestriMILAN, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Italian spirits group Campari (CPRI.MI) reported on Tuesday a 9.6% increase in fourth quarter like-for-like sales, thanks to strong pricing and despite supply constraints. The maker of Aperol and Campari bitters said net sales reached 2.7 billion euros ($2.9 billion) in 2022 as a whole, up organically 16.4% compared with the previous year. Adjusted operating profit in the last quarter was up 7.6% on a like-for-like basis, with input cost inflation almost fully offset by positive pricing initiatives. Campari is proposing a full year dividend of 0.06 euros per share, unchanged compared with the previous year.
